How To Save Money While Doing Laundry

How To Save Money While Doing Laundry

For me saving money gives me such a thrill. Like I get super excited when I know I just saved a bunch of money.

Laundry is not my favorite chore but it’s one that needs to be done all the time, so whether I like it or not I have to make the best of it.

I found easy ways that I can save money while doing laundry.

Okay this one is my favorite to talk about because it’s just so outdated for many folks in the USA but its so awesome.

Here are just a few benefits:
– uses no electricity
– fresh smell
– the sun is a natural stain remover

Some people might have a laundry day. Like on Wednesday each week they do their laundry. Well I look at the weather in the beginning of the week and then do laundry on sunny days.

I bought mine locally to support the people around me but you can find these at any health store. Maybe you can get them to target and other store too I just have never checked.

So I just throw my wool ball in with my clothes into the dryer when I do use the dryer and it take away the static and it lowers the drying time.

I don’t really see a point for them if I using a wool ball and if I want my clothes to smell like lavender I will add essential oil.

I use to be intimidated of the DIY laundry detergent but after I made it once I can’t help my self but to keep making it myself always. I love to experiment with different recipes and then making them my own.

Some of you might cringe at this but guess what I don’t always separate my dark’s and my colors. Shocker right. Haha. But depending on what clothes I have I do different piles. This is how I divided mine.

Hubby’s work clothes
Cloth diapers
Bright colors
Blacks with dark colored clothing

I use to wash Joseph (my baby) clothes separately now I just was it with our clothes. Makes my life a lot easier.

When I can I use the shorter load cycle. Not all washing machine might have that setting.

Alright that is all for today. I got a bunch of laundry to do so till next time.

Apartment Patio Garden Tour

Gardening is something that I find really relaxing and it brings me a lot of joy.

My husband and I have been married for a little over 2.5 years. This is our first garden together at our own place.

The first place we lived in, we didn’t garden because we where so busy with work and honestly I don’t think we were that into it anyways. Then the second year we moved in with my parents and we had a family garden. We both helped to plant the garden and look after it. Then in March we moved to a townhouse and we decided that this year is the year to start gardening.

I am so glad we did.

I love going out onto my patio and pinching off some herbs and then going inside and cooking with them.

Like my husband says, “From the backyard to the table. It doesn’t get any better then that!”

And I gotta say I totally agree.

So I thought it would be fun to show you and all my friends that live far from us a tour of our small garden.

Its not perfect but to us and for us it’s perfect.

I have the video down below. You can watch it here or on my YouTube channel. That’s where it is originally uploaded.

Happy a happy and healthy day!

The Reality of Motherhood | Mommy Life Talk | Expectation vs. Reality

Welcome back. Today I am doing another Mommy Life Talk. I want to talk to you about motherhood.

Becoming a mother is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Its the most rewarding and the hardest job at the same time. I love how Tina Fey puts it; she once said, “Being a mom has made me so tired. And so happy.”

Its crazy for me to think that God choose me to participate in his creation and raise this child that he has given me.

For the past few weeks I have been in a funk. I wouldn’t go as far as to say I was depressed but I sure wasn’t the happiest person alive.

I wanted to write this post because I know there are other mommas out there that may be feeling like I was.

I got so overwhelmed with everything going in my life.

I am feeling a lot better now and this post is helping me deal with my emotions.

I had so much dishes, the laundry got stocked up, the house was a disaster and I had absolutely no desire to do any of it. I would look on Instagram of other moms and see their perfectly decorated and perfectly clean homes and get even more sad.

I got so burned out that for a couple of weeks I did almost nothing around the house. As sad as that is to admit but its true.

I would say stuff to myself like your a horrible mom and wife for having such a messy houses and for not having extravagant meals every day.

But you know what the truth of it all is that I am a human. I am a new mom trying to adjust to being a mom and taking care of this kid.

So what if your house is a disaster. Being with your baby is so much more important. Don’t get me wrong we should still take care of the home and clean it but we don’t have to be so hard on ourselves when our homes aren’t sparking clean.

It took a couple of weeks of me being down to really get that in my head.

We are doing such important work. Such hard work. But if your reading this I want to tell you that you are doing the very best you can. You are an amazing momma. You are strong and beautiful. You are an incredible woman.

Life is going to get hard and we just have to accept that. Honestly, I have no idea how the moms on Instagram have it all together in their pictures but hell that sure is not what my life looks like.

The reality is that motherhood is messy, hard, crazy and great, all at the same time. That is what makes it so amazing.

I hope you found this at least a bit encouraging.

Grab the your kid(s) and get in the car, gets yourself a treat like coffee and blast some music and enjoy the cup of coffee. Sometimes that’s the only time we have to just relax and your not a bad mom for doing that. We need time for ourselves even if the kids are right besides us.

Enjoy your day mommas.
